The City of Nelsonville Finance Committee held a meeting on Monday, August 4, at 7:30 PM at City Hall. The meeting was held to discuss,
- Code Enforcement Officer is requesting the creation of a Property Maintenance line item and appropriation of funds. Code office is wanting to create a roster of local landscape companies to contract out mowing and yard maintenance work for out of compliance/vacant residences.
- A budget template generated by Mr. Sappington with easily fillable and changeable sections.
- Nelsonville Police - Appropriation of unappropriated funds from the 425 K9 fund to a training and equipment line item. There are just over $32,000 in funds unappropriated, and I will need $16,000 for the purchase of the K9 and training of the Officer alone.
- Hiring special counsel to carry over into 2026.
- Review Ad hoc Committee clerk pay.
- Having a full audit of all City accounts/line items and to be completed by November 30, 2025.
