A Message from the City Auditor
I know how hard you work for your money. I’m also aware that municipal revenues and expenditures are not exactly exciting topics for most folks. However, as your City Auditor, I wanted to personally reach out and impress upon you how hard we are working to ensure fair and honest collection of taxes across our city, this year. Our community is stronger when everyone pays their fair share and when City Hall has a careful watchdog looking after your money.
I believe that without you, City Hall could not operate and provide. And that is why I take this job so seriously.
It is the responsibility of this office to collect taxes fairly and efficiently. After that, I personally make sure the money is spent wisely and with accountability throughout this year. I also must keep a close eye on city bank accounts, assets, debt levels, future liabilities, and revenue sources. My job is to make it EASIER to live, work, and do business in Nelsonville while keeping the lights on at City Hall.
I hope to see you out and about our wonderful hometown soon. And I want to personally thank you for the opportunity to work for Nelsonville.
