The City of Nelsonville would like to announce a Neighborhood Watch Information Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 6:00pm at Nelsonville City Council Chambers, 211 Lake Hope Drive.

Building Number Ordinance
House numbers are not only convenient for finding addresses but necessary for emergency responders to locate those in need. When responding to an emergency, minutes matter so be sure that fire, ambulance, and police personnel can easily and quickly find your address.
Title 13- Building Number Ordinance
§13.04.02. Specification for address numbers.
A. Residences Street address numbers for residences three (3) inches in height. The numbers shall be conspicuously placed on, above, or at the side of the main entrance so that the number is discernible from the street.
B. Commercial Street address numbers for commercial and industrial structures four (4) inches in height, if located within fifty (50) of a roadway or at least ten (10) inches in height and shall be of a durable and clearly visible material, preferably reflective and of a contrasting color to the background on which they are mounted, if located greater than fifty (50) feet from the street. The number shall be placed above or on the main entrance to the structure when possible. If such number is not visible from the street, the number shall be placed along a driveway or on a sign visible from the street.
C. Apartments, Trailer Parks, etc. Apartments and similar complexes assigned a single building number shall display address numbers on each assigned structure using in Arabic numerals having a minimum height of eight (8) inches and shall be of a durable Nelsonville City Code 13-2 and clearly visible material, preferably reflective and

Parks & Recreation Commission Seeks Applicants
Application Deadline: January 31, 2019
City of Nelsonville Recreation Committee is seeking applications for the City’s Parks and Recreation Commission. To be considered for the Commission, the applicant must be an elector of the City of Nelsonville. The Commission is a 5-person Board whose purpose is to recommend programs to the Recreation Committee for the operation of City’s parks and recreation facilities, for the acquisition, improvement, construction and maintenance of the parks, and for any other services related thereto. The Board’s functions and duties shall be advisory only.
